It’s official! Jason and I are headed to Yosemite National Park this June! After two summers of failed vacation attempts, we have finally followed through on a trip we’ve dreamed about. We’ll be out west for a week, leaving Wisconsin on June 5 and returning on June 11.
We will be staying in Curry Village in a tent cabin. Basically, it’s a canvas tent with a wood frame and wood floor. We will have cots and a light, but no outlets, telephone, TV, or plumbing. It’s basically camping without all the work.
Each tent cabin in Curry Village comes with its own bear-proof storage locker. We have to store anything that has a scent in this box. This obviously means food, but also includes toiletries. I’m both excited about and terrified of the bear boxes.
I can’t wait until June. I’ve always wanted to visit Yosemite, and my recent foray into camping has only intensified this desire. I’m all prepared with my digital camera and new Flip Video camera, so every moment of this trip can and will be documented. June can’t come fast enough!
